Update on New High School

The Sub-Committee seems to be divided into two camps, one is pushing for a 9th grade campus and the other for a new High School.

A 9th grade campus will allow us to continue with only one High School for a few more years, but we are going to eventually need to build another High School. It looks like a 9th grade campus could extend the life of the current HS until about 2013. The problem with that is we would be maxed out at the HS and the 9th grade campus and there would not be any other options.

If we do not build a new HS during this process, we would not be able to have a new HS until the year 2015 at the earliest and probably closer to 2016 or 2017.

A new HS would provide adequate facilities well into the future, probably to the 2020-21 school year.

We are having another meeting Wednesday September 20th, at 7:00pm. If you have an opinion on the future of the Tomball ISD, please try and attend.
